These images were created in collaboration with the Undocumented Migration Project. The UMP is a long-term anthropological study of undocumented migration between Mexico and the United States that uses ethnography, archaeology, and forensic science to better understand this clandestine social process. I have been lead photographer on the project since its inception in 2009 as well as Co-curator of Hostile Terrain 94. The project is run byProfessor Jason De León at UCLA. De León is a 2017 MacArthur fellow.
